Functions & responsibilities

Figure placed within a specialized work environment in the field of mechanical machining dealing with the conduction and programming of Lathe on 4/5.

Performs set up and commissioning of machine(s) using necessary tools, fixtures and tooling - prepared in cycle drafting together with Time & Methods Dept.

Reads drawings of mechanical parts, applies adjustments necessary and runs the machine based on the cycle instructions.

Checks the correct operation of the machine(s), the required quality of the product during processing, completes the work sheet, operates according to safety regulations and reports rejects/anomalies/alarms that have arisen during processing.

After start-up, verifies/optimizes programs/tools/parameters, correcting any geometric and/or technological errors.

At the end of machining, performs quality control on machined parts in compliance with dimensions and tolerances indicated in the drawing using traditional instrumentation and/or digital and recording the control performed.

Operates priority choices in cases of conflict/criticality, deciding based on urgency, material availability, error risk.

Operates routine maintenance work or reports the need for extraordinary maintenance where necessary.

Follows directions in the machine's Operation and Maintenance Manual.
